Hourly Positions:
General Laborer
Position includes general labor on concrete or grade crew. Experience with road construction projects preferred. Requires the ability to routinely work 50 or more hours per week, work outdoors in all weather conditions, travel and have reliable transportation. Must be able to work well with others and promote a team environment. This is seasonal employment, normally mid April through mid November. We offer a competitive wage as well as a superior benefit package including: company paid health and life insurance, a fully vested 401(k) program funded at the rate of $1 per hour and a daily per diem when working more than 60 miles away from home. Heavy Equipment Operator
Will operate a blade, loader, dozer etc. Knowledge of hubs and grade preferred. Requires the ability to routinely work 50 or more hours per week, work outdoors in all weather conditions, travel and have reliable transportation. Concrete Finisher
Position includes smoothing, back plastering, and finishing surfaces of poured road, runways, driveways, sidewalks, curbs, and any other concrete surfaces. Attention to detail and quality is a must. Requires the ability to routinely work 50 or more hours per week, work outdoors in all weather conditions, travel and have reliable transportation. Oiler/Greaser
Position includes lubricating moving parts on vehicles and construction equipment. Can be assigned to a construction crew or shop. Must provide own tools and have a minimum of a class B CDL with a Haz Mat endorsement. Experience on road construction projects preferred. Requires the ability to routinely work 50 or more hours per week, work outdoors in all weather conditions, travel and have reliable transportation. Truck Driver
Position includes driving trucks with dump body to transport and dump concrete mix to job sites, or loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, milled asphalt, broken concrete, grubbing and clearing, or other paving materials or earth. Must have minimum class B CDL and a good driving record. Experience with road construction projects preferred. Requires the ability to work 50 or more hours per week, work outdoors in all weather conditions, travel and have reliable transportation. Saw/Seal Worker
Postion includes operating concrete saw and seal equipment as well as general labor on concrete or grade crew. Experience on road construction projects preferred. Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Analyzes malfunctions and makes repairs on heavy equipment. Can be assigned to a construction crew or the shop. Must provide own tools, have experience with diesel equipment and a minimum of a class B CDL. Requires the ability to routinely work 50 or more hours per week, work outdoors in all weather conditions, travel and have reliable transportation. Must be able to work well with others and promote a team environment. This is seasonal employment with a 46 week year from the beginning of February to mid December. Rough Grade Foreman
This position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to meet the company's driving policy. Must be able to work well with others and promote a team environment. You must have excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills. Extensive travel is required. A minimum of 2 years direct construction related experience required with previous management experience preferred. Requires the ability to routinely work 50 or more hour per week and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Assistant Estimator
Cedar Valley Corp. is looking for an Assistant Estimator to work in cooperation with the Head Estimator preparing construction bids for a national award winning heavy highway construction company. Must be extremely detail oriented, be able to multi task, and possess excellent communication and time management skills. A minimum of a 2 year degree in civil and/or construction management or technology with 2 years related experience preferred. Quality Control Supervisor
Individual to supervise plant inspectors and members of a custom grinding crew. Responsible to ensure all testing for thickness, smoothness (including required corrective work), and quality of concrete is performed accurately and essential documentation is completed in a timely manner. Must be IDOT PCC Level II certified or Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I (in accordance with ACI CP-2) or able to complete the necessary schooling to become certified. This position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to meet the company's driving policy. Must possess excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
