Cedar Valley Corp. invites you to take the first step to joining our national award-winning road construction team.  Apply now for any of the road construction jobs listed below.  Complete an online application below, or call the Workforce Development Director at 319-235-9537 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday to request an application by mail or stop by the office on the corners of Broadway and Wagner roads in Waterloo, Iowa.

Applications for hourly field positions are accepted from February 15 through October 15th.  However, between October 15th and February 15th, qualified applicants desiring to discuss opportunities listed under Immediate Openings may contact the Workforce Development Director at 319-235-9537 from 8:00 AM  to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.

Please note: Applications for all road construction jobs are considered active for 60 days from the date of signature. After 60 days reapplication is necessary.


Hourly Positions:


General Laborer
Duties for these road construction jobs include general labor on concrete or grade crews.  Experience with road construction projects preferred.  Requires the ability to routinely work 50 or more hours per week, work outdoors in all weather conditions, travel and have reliable transportation.  Must be able to work well with others and promote a team environment.  This is seasonal employment, normally mid April through mid November.  We offer a competitive wage as well as a superior benefit package including the following: company paid health and life insurance, a fully vested 401(k) program funded at the rate of $1 per hour and a daily per diem for jobs that qualify.  Post-offer physical and drug tests are mandatory.  We strongly encourage women and minorities to apply. Heavy Equipment Operator

Concrete Finisher

Oiler/Greaser
Duties for these road construction jobs include lubricating moving parts on vehicles and construction equipment. Truck Driver
Duties for these road construction jobs include driving trucks with dump body to transport and dump concrete mix to job sites, or loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, milled asphalt, broken concrete, grubbing and clearing, or other paving materials or earth.  Must have minimum class B CDL and a good driving record. Saw/Seal Worker

Immediate Openings

Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Duties for these road construction jobs include analyzing malfunctions and making repairs on heavy equipment.  May be assigned to a construction crew or the shop.  Must provide own tools, have experience with diesel equipment and a minimum of a class B CDL with a good driving record.  Requires the ability to routinely work 50 or more hours per week, work outdoors in all weather conditions, travel and have reliable transportation.  Must be able to work well with others and promote a team environment.  This is seasonal employment with a 46 week year from the beginning of February to mid December. We offer a competitive wage as well as a superior benefit package including: company paid health and life insurance, a fully vested 401(k) program funded at the rate of $1 per hour and a daily per diem for jobs that qualify.  Post-offer physical and drug tests are mandatory.  We strongly encourage women and minorities to apply.  EEO A/A M/F/D/V

Grade Foreman
